My next book is a collaboration with MMA guru Greg Jackson. I formed a
friendship with Jackson during the writing of Title Shot in Albuquerque and
felt his techniques and story needed to be told. While there are a great
deal of instructional MMA books on the market today, I feel a trainer like
Greg has more to offer a prospective MMA student than a book written by an
exceptional athlete who is capable of doing things us mere mortals cannot.
BJ Penn and Anderson Silva are tremendous fighters, but learning their ways
of fighting is probably only suitable for those who are on their level of
athleticism. A book by a proven trainer appeals to everyone because Greg
has demonstrated an ability to make champions out of local talent.
Greg and I will release his first book, Stand Up Fighting, in late 2008 and his second book, Ground Fighting, in mid 2009 under Victory Belt publications.
